The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is the committee responsible for ensuring the protection of human subjects partnering in research studies at UNC Charlotte. The IRB is charged with this task while facilitating research that is consistent with long-standing ethical principles and federal, state and university regulations.  The IRB works in conjunction with the Compliance Office to ensure that the rights and welfare of human subjects are paramount and that the highest standards of ethical conduct are employed throughout the entire research process.

The Compliance Office is committed to providing integrated oversight of ethical and regulatory issues in human subjects research conducted at UNC Charlotte as well as coordinating effective and efficient IRB reviews.
